2. Improving communication: Listening

Interview with Alastair Dryburgh

Does he think technology makes good communication easier?

It can make it better, but also worse and the truth is that there are certain ways and tools to achieve it.

What four key points does Alastair make about communication?

  • Being simple and clear as possible
  • Not much data on people, it just make people get bored
  • Listening is IMPORTANT, just as important as speaking
  • Emotional connection enables effective communication with others

Amazon:

Totally confirmation since the beginning! You know exactly what's going on.
This company has an effective communication when they know exactly what you ordered in the past and how you receive the correct recommendations in the present based on what you bought.

A bad customer experience: A computarized voice mail which is designed to prevent you to talk with a real person, so the problem here was that dialing numbers can't help solving any doubt or answering any question and that's makes it difficult.
What mistakes did the company make, and how could they have improved the customer experience?
Not allowing to costumers to have a real talk with a person, so that makes difficult to stablish a bond between the costumer and the company since everything is automated.

  4. Hi Maricarmen!, I have read your work, but actually, my first impression was how you added the pic there, it was an incredible idea.

I agree, technology makes communication better and easier, but at the same time could it be worst and it is possible that the message will be not easy to follow, the receiver can misunderstand words.

In my opinion one of the possible solution to the enterprise which does not have a good customer service could be: introduce real people into the sa
id service, when a person feels that he/she belongs, it is easier to manage the problems. In other case, it could be possible made a page to chat with an intelligent computer… What do you think about it? I consider that our answers are a little bit different, but we can communicate with each other and create an amazing solution!
